COVID-19: Zone 1 to Return to Orange (Feb. 8, 2021)
New Brunswick's Zone 1 (Moncton region, which includes Salisbury) received some positive news with the announcement that it will return to the Orange phase of the Province's coronavirus recovery plan as of Tuesday, February 9th. Since January 19th, Zone 1 had been in the more restrictive Red phase as NB Public Health tried to get a handle on the post-Holiday Season spike in cases of COVID-19. For full details of what this change in status means for Zone 1, including your "Steady 10" contacts and what businesses are permitted to reopen, read the government press release here.
Meantime, along with the Zone 1 announcement came news that Zone 4, the Edmundston region, will no longer be under Lockdown and will enter the Red phase.
Including two cases on Monday, there are now 182 active cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick. Since the arrival of the pandemic in the province in early 2020, there have been 1,346 confirmed cases, including 20 deaths and 1,143 recoveries.
