COVID-19: NB Update (June 23, 2020)
A case of COVID-19 in the Moncton region/Zone 1 was announced by Public Health on June 23rd (June 23 NB news release). It’s a travel-related case. Infected is an individual between 50-59 who was self-isolating at the time of diagnosis and had not had any close contacts. Meantime, since the last update there were eight more recoveries, leaving 20 active cases in the province, including two in hospital, one of whom is in ICU. Of the confirmed 165 cases to date of the Coronavirus since the pandemic reached New Brunswick, two resulted in death. The province has conducted 40,832 tests.
As for the province's Recovery Plan, the Campbellton zone remains at Phase 2 (Orange), while the rest of New Brunswick is at Phase 3 (Yellow), which allows for the gradual reopening of businesses and activities.
