It is with great sadness that the Municipal Council and employees of the Village of Salisbury learned of the passing of our former mayor, Ruth Jackson on May 26, 2020.
Ruth was mayor of the village for many years, from 1992 to 2004, after having served as municipal councillor from 1983-1989. An avid volunteer in the community, it is obvious that she devoted her life to the development of her municipality and the well-being of its citizens.
"Her commitment to the citizens of this community will never be forgotten. We send our deepest condolences and prayers to her family and loved ones during this difficult time,” said Mayor Terry Keating. "I encourage people to share Ruth’s best moments and accomplishments on social media to celebrate her life and achievements.“
Mayor, Council, and Staff of the Village of Salisbury would like to offer our most sincere condolences to the family of our former Mayor, Councillor, and friend. Ruth was an incredible person and leader who cared deeply about her community and devoted much of her life to public service. Salisbury is a better place because of her love for this community. She will be missed.
