Join Us in Celebrating Canada 150!  
SATURDAY, JULY 1st FROM 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
 To Celebrate this Momentous Milestone We Will Be 
Extending Our Events and Adding a Few Special Canadian Touches.  
Events to Take Place at Highland Park - 29 Highland Drive, Weather Permitting or at
The Municipal Building - 56 Douglas Street If Weather Does Not Cooperate.

   10:00am      -  Kids Parade - Kids Are Asked to Decorate Their Bikes & Wagons for Canada Day and 

                                                        Will Parade Around Highland Park

   10:30am      -  Flag Raising Ceremony & Marching of the Colours

   11:30am      -  Official Opening of the Splash Pad- Come Prepared to Get Wet!

   12-2:00pm   -  Musical Entertainment by Zack Lane TRIO


                     -  Games, Face Painting, B-B-Q & Cake and More!!



Colouring ContestDrop off your entry in the Village Office drop box before June 27, 2017 and you could win a prize!
Adult Colouring Contest - As requested, you can pick up a copy of the Adult Colouring Contest Picture at the  Village Office or
Extra copies are available at the Village Office.   
All contest entries will be displayed at the Municipal Building & presentation of prizes will be made during the celebration.

Thursday, August 17th


Seniors Day@ Salisbury Legion - Monday Morning Merry Makers Group & Salisbury Community Days Committee will be holding a fun day for seniors with soup & sandwiches, games, and fun.  Open to all seniors.  (FREE) 


Pirates and Princess Party @ Salisbury Public Library (in Millennium Park behind the library if weather allows, inside if it rains)  Children, teens, parents and caregivers all welcome!  Come dressed up as your favourite Pirate or Princess character - Costumes are optional but awesome! (FREE)


Abandoned Cat Rescue SPAYghetti Dinner @ Salisbury Lions Club (63 Peter Street) - Spaghetti Dinner, Caesar Salad, Roll, Dessert (Homemade Pies & Cakes), and Beverage.  There will also be Craft & Bake Sale Table, Silent Auction, and 50/50 Draw. ($12-Adults/$6-Age 12 and under)  All proceeds for the Abandoned Cat Rescue. Petz International "Special Pet" Coloring Contest Deadline@ Village Office - Pick up a colouring contest picture at the Village Office.  Tell us what makes your pet special! Three categories, Ages 0-5, 6-9 and 10+.  (Don't foget to place your phone number and full name on the back).  All entries will be displayed and prizes will be presented on Saturday following the parade.


Paint Nite @ Salisbury Baptist Church (3128 Main Street) - Church Gym.  Fundraiser event for the Salisbury Baptist Church Junior Choir.


Showing of 'Beauty and the Beast'@ Highland Park - Movie will begin at dusk (around 8:30).  You are encouraged to come dressed as a prince or princess!  Snacks and drinks will be available!  Bring chairs or blankets to get comfortable!  Parks & Leisure Department would like to thank this year's sponsor, CIBC!  (FREE)


Friday, August 18th


Enter Exhibits-Salisbury Community Days Exhibit Show @ Fire Hall - Who has the cutest pet photo?  Who has the best flowers?  Who is the better cook?  Who is more crafty?  There is a category for everyone and children’s and senior’s sections.  Pick up your entry form at the Village Office. (Exhibition Show Booklet)  Something for everyone. (No entry fee)


Kids & Family Day @ Boys & Girls Club - BBQ, Games, & Fun (FREE) There will be water games, so come prepared to get wet.  For information call 372-5873.  This is a joint effort of the Lions and the Boys & Girls Club.


Deadline for Colouring Contest @ Village Office - Pick up a colouring contest picture at the Village Office or print off your own.  Two categories, one for children (0-13) and one for adults.  (Don't forget to place your name and contact number on the back) Submissions must be received prior to 12pm.  All entries will be displayed and prizes will be presented on Sunday during the BBQ.


Deadline for Poster Contest @ Fire Hall - Make a poster with this year’s theme.  You can draw, paint, or use pictures from a magazine.  Posters should be no smaller than 8 ½ x 11 and no larger than poster board.  Be sure to drop off your poster at the Exhibit Hall before 2pm for judging.  Entries will be displayed at the Exhibit Show


Open Exhibits @ Fire Hall - Come see who won!! (FREE)   


Enter Chili Challenge* - Who will earn the bragging rights for the best chili in the coming year? Entry fee is free.  Rules available at the Village Office. (This is a joint effort of the Salisbury Community Days Committee and the Salisbury St. John Ambulance)


Chili Challenge Judging - Come test the chili and see if your pick is the pick of the judges!


FOOD TRUCK FRIDAY -Calling all food trucks!  Any food trucks interested in participating can inquire at 372-3230.

Heavy Kevy's Food Truck -Heavy Kevy has confirmed he will be in attendance, why not come on by and have a Heavy Kevy's Great Meal! 


Lawn Tractor Races* - Come put your mower to the test and see who’s lawn tractor is best!  Rules and regulations are available at the Village Office.  Please call or stop in at the Village Office to register.

Saturday, August 19th


Lions Pancake Breakfast @ Lions Club - All you can eat pancakes and sausages.  Come get fuelled up for the day’s events.  ($8-Adults, $3-Children 6-10, Free-Preschool)


Village Wide Yard Sales -  We encourage anyone holding a yard sale to contact us prior to August 14th with your information so that we can create a village wide yard sale map to be made available on line and at the Village Office Friday evening.    MAP 


Allen Wilson Memorial Basketball Tournament @ The Douglas Street Basketball Court - For more information contact Tristen Geldeart at 961-0602.



Bazaar @ JMA High School Cafeteria - Salisbury Parks & Leisure Department will be holding a bazaar (FREE) Table rentals are $25 each.  All money raised from table rentals will go towards the Highland Park Revitalization Project.  Vendors wishing to book a table, please contact the Parks & Leisure Department @ 372-3280.


Lego Sam’s Lego Train Show @ Upstairs at the Village Office - Come see Lego Sam’s Lego Train Show.  (FREE) Lego sets will be available for purchase. If you would like to display a Lego model that you have built, please bring it to Sam at the Village Office on Friday from 11 am to 3 pm to be put on display on Saturday. 


Parade Line up @ Elementary School Parking Lot - All entries wishing to be judged must register and be lined up before 11:00 am.


Parade (Regular Parade Route) Please note, for safety reasons, through traffic on Main Street and River Road will be stopped for the length of the parade. (Rain or Shine) - Parade Organizers request that candy NOT be thrown from floats, in order to avoid possible injury to children that are gathering goodies.  Individuals may walk beside the float and hand out treats.  The committee encourages musical entrants. All rules for motorized vehicles should be abided by.  There will be no tolerance for reckless driving. 


(Directly After Parade) Dance Demo* - Come see what Maddi’s Dance Class has learned this summer!


Market & Food Court* - Local businesses, groups, organizations, or individuals are welcome to run their own stands to sell their products. (Baking, Crafts, Vegetables, BBQ...)  Limited space available so please contact the Village Office to book your spot. (FREE)


Petz International Presents - Best Pet Colouring Contest and Essay* Judging following the parade.


Face Painting* (FREE)  Sponsored by McTavy's General Store

Kids & Animals Talk* Provided by The Birds Nest -Parental Supervision is Required (FREE)


Cafe Diem* - Let your creative flag fly!  Come and Paint-your-own-Pottery and create a wonderful souvenir of Community Days.  Cafe Diem will provide the pieces, paint and firing.  All you need is your IMAGINATION!! ($10)


T-Shirt Booth* -Come decorate a T-Shirt with the Salisbury Lion's Pool (Bring your own shirt to decorate, or Salisbury Lion's Pool shirts will be available to purchase for $10)


Wagon Rides@ Elementry School Area - The Salisbury Parks & Leisure Department will be offering  FREE wagon rides.  Horse team owned and led by Ryan Hicks.


Salisbury Disney Olympics*- Compete in a variety of disney challenges (Ages 8 and over)           


Free Swim @ Salisbury Lions Pool - Be our guest for free swim.  Everyone Welcome!


Lobster Roll Supper @ Lions Club – Lobster Roll, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, and Strawberry Shortcake $15.  Advanced ticket sales, limited tickets at door. For more information  or to purchase tickets please contact the Parks & Leisure Department @ 372-3280.  All money raised will go towards the Highland Park Revitalization Project.  Special thanks to this year's sponsor Extreme Windows and Entrance Systems.

All events followed by * will take place near the Salisbury Municipal Building, 56 Douglas Street.  THERE WILL BE NO PARKING/NO THROUGH TRAFFIC ON DOUGLAS ST. FROM 1PM-5PM.  ThenSaturday afternoon’s event schedule is based upon the parade finishing at 1pm.  Because of this, times are subject to change according to the length of the parade.
