Thursday, August 16th

10am-2pm

Seniors Day@ Salisbury Legion - Open to all seniors. Soup, sandwiches & cake, games, and fun. (FREE)

2-3:30pm

Life-Size Candyland @ Salisbury Public Library - Children, teens, parents & caregivers can race through the Peppermint Forest and Gumdrop Mountains while enjoying delicious treats on your way to the Candy Castle. Come dressed up as your favourite Candyland character. Costumes are optional, but awesome! This event will take place in the park behind the Library if weather permits. (FREE)

4-6:30pm 

Abandoned Cat Rescue SPAYghetti Dinner @ Salisbury Lions Club (63 Peter Street) - Spaghetti with homemade meat sauce (vegetarian and alfredo available), crispy caesar salad, fresh roll, homemade dessert, and beverage (tea, coffee, or fruit punch). There will also be a craft & bake sale table, silent auction, and 50/50 draw. ($12-Adults/$6-Age 12 and under) Take-out available. All proceeds for the Abandoned Cat Rescue. Escape Room * @ Salisbury Village Office/upstairs (56 Douglas Street) - Phone the Village Office at 372-3230 to book spots for groups of 4-5. Limited spots available. Solve all of the clues in time and you will earn your freedom! (FREE)

Movie Night at Highland Park, featuring 'Jumanji' - Movie will begin at dusk (around 8:30). Snacks and drinks will be available! Bring chairs or blankets to get comfortable! Parks & Leisure Department would like to thank this year's sponsor, CIBC! (FREE)

Friday, August 17th

Enter Exhibits - Salisbury Community Days Exhibit Show * @ Fire Hall - Who has the cutest pet photo? Who has the best flowers? Who is the better cook? Who is more crafty? There is a category for everyone and children’s and seniors' sections. Pick up your entry form at the Village Office. (Exhibition Show Booklet) Something for everyone. (No entry fee)

10am-2pm 

Kids & Family Day @ Highland Park (NEW LOCATION) - BBQ, games, & fun (FREE). There will be water games, so come prepared to get wet! For information call 372-5873. This is a joint effort of the Boys and Girls Club of Salisbury and the Lions Club.

12pm

Deadline for Colouring Contest * @ Village Office - Pick up a colouring contest picture at the Village Office or print off your own. Two categories, one for children (0-13) and one for adults. (Don't forget to place your name and contact number on the back) Submissions must be received prior to 12pm. All entries will be displayed and prizes will be presented on Sunday during the BBQ.

Pickleball Demonstration * - Come learn how to play Pickleball on our outdoor courts next to the school, across from the Parks & Leisure Building. No equipment needed! For more information, call Parks & Leisure at 372-3280. (FREE)

Deadline for Poster Contest *@ Fire Hall - Make a poster with this year's theme. You can draw, paint, or use pictures from a magazine. Posters should be no smaller than 8.5"x11" and no larger than a poster board. Be sure to drop off your poster at the Exhibit Hall before 2pm for judging. Entries will be displayed at the Exhibit Show.

Enter Chili Challenge * - Who will earn the bragging rights for the best chili in the coming year? No entry fee. Rules available at the Village Office. This is a joint effort of the Salisbury Community Days Committee and Salisbury St. John Ambulance.

Chili Challenge Judging * - Come test the chili and see if your pick is the pick of the judges! (FREE)

FOOD FRIDAY * - Enjoy a variety of pub-style food options! Special thanks to the Parks & Leisure Department.

Lawn Tractor Races * - Come put your mower to the test and see whose lawn tractor is best! Rules and regulations are available at the Village Office. Please call or visit at the Village Office to register. (No registration fee)

Saturday, August 18th

Lions Pancake Breakfast @ Lions Club - All you can eat pancakes and sausages. Come get fuelled up for the day’s events. ($8-adults, $3-children 6-10, free-preschool)

Village-Wide Yard Sales - We encourage anyone holding a yard sale to contact us prior to Friday, August 17th with your information so we can create a village-wide yard sale map to be made available at the Village Office by Friday evening and right here.  

10am-4pm

Allen Wilson Memorial Basketball Tournament * @ Douglas Street Basketball Court - For more information contact Tristen Geldart at 961-0602.

Lego Sam’s Lego Train Show * Upstairs at the Village Office - Come see Lego Sam’s Lego Train Show. (FREE) Lego sets will be available for purchase. If you would like to display a Lego model that you have built, please bring it to Sam at the Village Office on Friday from 11am-3pm to be put on display on Saturday.

Parade line-up @ Salisbury Elementary School parking lot - All entries wishing to be judged must register and be lined up before 11am.

12pm

Parade (Regular Parade Route) -  Please note, for safety reasons, through-traffic on Main Street and River Road will be stopped for the length of the parade. (Rain or Shine) - Parade Ooganizers request that candy NOT be thrown from floats in order to avoid possible injury to children that are gathering goodies. Individuals may walk beside the float and hand out treats. The committee encourages musical entrants. All rules for motorized vehicles should be abided by. There will be no tolerance for reckless driving.

 

(Directly After Parade) Dance Demo * - Come see what Maddi’s Dance Class has learned this summer!

1-4pm 

Market & Food Court * - Local businesses, groups, organizations, or individuals are welcome to run their own stands to sell their products (baking, crafts, vegetables, BBQ...). Limited space available, so please contact the Village Office to book your spot. (FREE)

Lobster Roll Supper @ Lions Club – Lobster roll, potato salad, coleslaw, and strawberry shortcake. $15. Advance ticket sales, limited tickets at door. For more information or to purchase tickets, please contact the Parks & Leisure Department at 372-3280.  All money raised will go towards the Highland Park Revitalization Project.

 Wednesday, Aug. 14th, 10-11:30 am **** Special kickoff event: Active Seniors@ Highland Park ****

Join Parks & Leisure staff and volunteers for some summer games and perhaps a stroll around the park and/or wetland trail. Snacks, a refreshing beverage, and a cool treat can be enjoyed by all. There will be limited chairs and shade. If you’d like to bring your own lawn chairs and umbrellas, our staff will be more than happy to help carry them to and from the parking area. '50s Theme Party @ Salisbury Public Library -  Wear your '50s-style costume and show off your hula-hooping skills, win a drag race with toy cars, see how low you can limbo, blow the biggest bubble gum bubble, and play some giant Battleship.  The whole family is welcome.  The event will be outside if the weather is nice. (FREE)
