Thursday, August 16th

Seniors Day@ Salisbury Legion - Open to all seniors. Soup, sandwiches & cake, games, and fun. (FREE)

2-3:30pm

Life-Size Candyland @ Salisbury Public Library - Children, teens, parents & caregivers can race through the Peppermint Forest and Gumdrop Mountains while enjoying delicious treats on your way to the Candy Castle. Come dressed up as your favourite Candyland character. Costumes are optional, but awesome! This event will take place in the park behind the Library if weather permits. (FREE)

4-6:30pm 

Abandoned Cat Rescue SPAYghetti Dinner @ Salisbury Lions Club (63 Peter Street) - Spaghetti with homemade meat sauce (vegetarian and alfredo available), crispy caesar salad, fresh roll, homemade dessert, and beverage (tea, coffee, or fruit punch). There will also be a craft & bake sale table, silent auction, and 50/50 draw. ($12-Adults/$6-Age 12 and under) Take-out available. All proceeds for the Abandoned Cat Rescue. Enter Exhibits - Salisbury Community Days Exhibit Show * @ Fire Hall - Who has the cutest pet photo? Who has the best flowers? Who is the better cook? Who is more crafty? There is a category for everyone and children’s and seniors' sections. Pick up your entry form at the Village Office. (Exhibition Show Booklet) Something for everyone. (No entry fee)

Kids & Family Day @ Highland Park (NEW LOCATION) - BBQ, games, & fun (FREE). There will be water games, so come prepared to get wet! For information call 372-5873. This is a joint effort of the Boys and Girls Club of Salisbury and the Lions Club.

Deadline for Colouring Contest * @ Village Office - Pick up a colouring contest picture at the Village Office or print off your own. Two categories, one for children (0-13) and one for adults. (Don't forget to place your name and contact number on the back) Submissions must be received prior to 12pm. All entries will be displayed and prizes will be presented on Sunday during the BBQ.

Deadline for Poster Contest *@ Fire Hall - Make a poster with this year's theme. You can draw, paint, or use pictures from a magazine. Posters should be no smaller than 8.5"x11" and no larger than a poster board. Be sure to drop off your poster at the Exhibit Hall before 2pm for judging. Entries will be displayed at the Exhibit Show.

Village-Wide Yard Sales - We encourage anyone holding a yard sale to contact us prior to Friday, August 17th with your information so we can create a village-wide yard sale map to be made available at the Village Office by Friday evening and right here.

Parade line-up @ Salisbury Elementary School parking lot - All entries wishing to be judged must register and be lined up before 11am.

Parade (Regular Parade Route) -  Please note, for safety reasons, through-traffic on Main Street and River Road will be stopped for the length of the parade. (Rain or Shine) - Parade Ooganizers request that candy NOT be thrown from floats in order to avoid possible injury to children that are gathering goodies. Individuals may walk beside the float and hand out treats. The committee encourages musical entrants. All rules for motorized vehicles should be abided by. There will be no tolerance for reckless driving.

 

(Directly After Parade) Dance Demo * - Come see what Maddi’s Dance Class has learned this summer!

1-4pm 

Market & Food Court * - Local businesses, groups, organizations, or individuals are welcome to run their own stands to sell their products (baking, crafts, vegetables, BBQ...). Limited space available, so please contact the Village Office to book your spot. (FREE)

 Wednesday, Aug. 14th, 10-11:30 am **** Special kickoff event: Active Seniors@ Highland Park ****

Join Parks & Leisure staff and volunteers for some summer games and perhaps a stroll around the park and/or wetland trail. Snacks, a refreshing beverage, and a cool treat can be enjoyed by all. There will be limited chairs and shade. If you’d like to bring your own lawn chairs and umbrellas, our staff will be more than happy to help carry them to and from the parking area. '50s Theme Party @ Salisbury Public Library -  Wear your '50s-style costume and show off your hula-hooping skills, win a drag race with toy cars, see how low you can limbo, blow the biggest bubble gum bubble, and play some giant Battleship.  The whole family is welcome.  The event will be outside if the weather is nice. (FREE)

Salisbury Community Days 2020 is going VIRTUAL! So grab your smart phone, fire up your laptop – by golly, even boot up the ol’ Vic20 (okay, maybe not the Vic20…) and JOIN US ONLINE!!
What better year to use our 20/20 vision and look back over the many glorious editions of Community Days?!
Pick a favourite theme from years past and decorate your property instead of a float – we can make it part of our virtual parade! And speaking of parade, get ready for a look at over 30 years of Community Days Parades and other events in a special online slide show we have planned!
There will be online challenges ranging from crafts and colouring, to cooking and photos. How about a scavenger hunt? Or village-wide yard sales! Plus, there’s always great food to enjoy during Community Days, including the Parks & Leisure Lobster Supper (take-out) and the Salisbury Lions Club Pancake Breakfast (drive-thru)!
A complete schedule will be available soon! The Salisbury Community Days Committee hopes you will join us in this virtual celebration! 
Decorate your homes or property using a theme from a past Community Days celebration!
               Think of it as like a float that doesn’t leave your property! Phone the Village Office (372-3230) and register the address of your
               entry and it will be added to a list/map (download or limited pick-up quantities). PRIZES TO BE WON!

Virtual Walk / Run  
The Village of Salisbury Parks & Leisure Department is challenging you to go for a walk or run anytime during
               Community Days on one of our two trails: Highland Park Wetland Trial or Salisbury Woodland Trail. You can access the new
               Woodland Trail at the end of Douglas St. past the schools and sports fields or from the end of Braemar St. Complete the
               challenge and take a selfie or photo of your walking/running family/friends on one of our two trails and send it to

 Seniors Day Take-Out, 11:30-1:30pm  Hosted by the Salisbury Legion and Community Days Committee – Open to all  seniors. Soup and sandwich take-out lunch.  Deliveries also available. Call to order: 372-4730 (Legion), 372-5759 (Ada) or 866-8363 (Susan). This FREE lunch includes chicken vegetable soup & crackers, sandwich (five choices) and cookies.

 

Letter-Jumble Scavenger Hunt  Scour the village for different letters of the alphabet posted in the windows of participating  local businesses or organizations located within the Village limits.  Lobster Roll Supper, 4:00-6:30pm  The 5th Annual Lobster Roll Supper fundraiser will be take-out only, pick-up locationat the Salisbury Lions Club. Tickets are $15 each. Supper: Lobster or chicken roll, potato salad, coleslaw & dessert.
