Thursday, August 19th

10am-3pm       Seniors Day @ Legion - Open to all seniors, soup & sandwiches, games and fun. (FREE)

10am-11am     Activities & Games @ Salisbury Public Library - Kids get active! (FREE)

7pm-9pm         Talent Show @ Salisbury Baptist Church - (Donations) All money raised will help our local Gold &

                           Silver Dance World Cup recipient Alyson Miller with her costs to attend the Paris Summer Dance Tour. She will

                           be performing several of her winning dances and will have her Summer Dance Classes debut. Anyone interested

                           in showcasing their talent please contact Tammy @ 381-0350.

Friday, August 20th

9am-2pm         Enter Exhibits-Salisbury Community Days Exhibit Show @ Fire Hall - Who has the cutest pet

                          photo? Who has the best flowers? Who is the better cook? Who is more crafty? There is a category for everyone

                          and children’s and senior’s sections. Pick up your entry form at the Village Office. (Printable Copy) So

                          everyone. (No entry fee)

10am-11am     Story Time @ Salisbury Public Library - Felt stories, Puppet Show, and Crafts (FREE)

11am-3pm       Kids Day @ Boys & Girls Club - BBQ, Games, & Fun (FREE) There will be water games, so come 

                           prepared to get wet. For information call 372-5873. This is a joint effort of the Lions, Lioness, Pool Staff, and 

                           the Boys & Girls Club.

11:30-12:30     Al Bernard’s Magic Show @ Boys & Girls Club - Come to the Club and join Al Bernard for

                            a magic show before lunch! (FREE)

2pm                   Deadline for Poster Contest @ Fire Hall - Make a poster with this year’s theme. You can draw, paint,

                            or use pictures from a magazine. Posters should be no smaller than 8 ½ x 11 and no larger than poster board. 

                            Be sure to drop off your poster at the Exhibit Hall before 1pm for judging. Entries will be displayed at the 

                            Exhibit Show.

4:30pm             Salisbury United Church Supper @ United Church - Home Baked Beans, Ham, Potato Salad,

                            Rolls, and Dessert. ($10-Adult/$5-Age 10 and under) Eat In or Take Out. Tickets available in advance or at 

                            the door.  Call Bev at 756-2615 or Dave at 372-5922.

6pm-9pm          Open Exhibits @ Fire Hall - Come see who won!! (FREE)

7pm-8pm          Lawn Tractor Races* - Come put your mower to the test and see who’s lawn tractor is the best! Rules and

                            regulations are available at the Village Office. Please call or stop in at the Village Office to register.

Saturday, August 21st

7am-10am         Lions Pancake Breakfast @ Lions Club - All you can eat pancakes and sausages. 

                            Come get fuelled up for the day’s events. ($6-Adults, $3-Children 6-10, Free-Preschool)

8am                    Yard Sale @ St. John’s Anglican Church - Church basement. Corner of Fredericton Rd & Kay St.

8am-12pm        Village Wide Yard Sales - We encourage anyone holding a yard sale to contact us with your information so 

                             that we can create a village wide yard sale map to be made available at the Village Office.

9am-3pm           Yard Sale @ Masonic Lodge - Accepting donations to be sold in the yard sale with all proceeds to go to

                             the Masonic Lodge. For more information or to make a donation contact Phil Lewis at 852-1487 or 372-4452.

10am-4pm         Lego Sam’s Lego Train Show @ Upstairs at the Village Office - Come see Lego Sam’s Lego 

                            Train Show. (FREE) Lego sets will be available for purchase.

11am                  Parade Line up @ Elementary School Parking Lot

                            All entries wishing to be judged must register

                            and be lined up before 11:00 am.

12pm                  Parade (Regular Parade Route) Please note, for safety reasons, through traffic on Main Street and 

                            River Road will be stopped for the length of the parade. (Rain or Shine) - Parade Organizers request

                            that candy NOT be thrown from floats, in order to avoid possible injury to children that are gathering

                            goodies.  Individuals may walk beside the float and hand out treats. The committee encourages 

       

                             Food Stands Along Douglas Street - Local groups & organizations are welcome to run food stands 

                            as a fundraiser.

(Directly After Parade)

                            Pig Roast* Come try some pig on a bun! To celebrate our Hawaiian theme we will be roasting a pig and

                            serving a slice on a bun with a drink for $6. All money raised will help cover the associated costs.

                            Taekwondo Demo* All belt levels demonstrating all aspects of Taekwondo including board breaking,

                            weapons, and self defence.

                            Association of 8th Canadian Hussar’s Pipes & Drums* - Mini Concert

1pm-4pm          Reptile Show* (There will be various shows throughout the afternoon) Snakes, lizards, and other reptiles. 

                            (FREE)

                            Face Painting* (FREE)

                            Fun Inflatable’s with Par-T-Perfect* (FREE)

                            Various Information Booths*

                            Petting Zoo* (FREE)

                            Be Smart Be Safe* Drivers come check out the DUMB Car. (Distractions Undermining Motorist Behaviour)

                            Pony Rides* Runnin’ on Farms will have pony rides $2/5 mins. All money raised goes to the horse rescue.

1:30pm             Chili Challenge* St. John Ambulance - Who will earn the bragging rights for the best chili in the coming

                            year? Entry fee for individuals is free, Team Challenge is $5. Rules available at the Village Office.

                            Free Blood Pressure Clinic* St. John Ambulance

1-1:45pm          RCMP Bicycle Safety Presentation @Tennis Court

2-3:30pm          RCMP Bike Rodeo @ Tennis Court - Please note: Helmet (No cracks, right size) and bicycle safety 

                            check (ABC: Air, Brakes and Chain) are mandatory prior to entering the bike rodeo.

3pm                    Washer Toss Tournament* Teams of two, must have one adult. Rules are available at the Village Office.

                            Please call or stop in at the Village Office to register.

3:45pm             Hawaiian Scavenger Race* Ten teams of two will compete in a scavenger race of challenges and riddles.

                           Please be aware that some challenges may include food and/or water. (Ages 8 and over)

8pm-12pm       Casino Night @ Legion - Play from 8 to 10:30pm. Auction Starts at 10:30pm.

Sunday, August 22nd

Noon                 Gospel Music, Awards, & BBQ Picnic @ Highland Park - Come and enjoy music, food, and fun

                            at our beautiful Village park. Entrance off Highland Drive/Gordon Street/Chad Crescent. (FREE) 

                            (Sound by SSI Audio)  Event to take place at the Municipal Building if weather does not co-operate!

2pm-3pm          Dress up Your Pet and Visit the Fire Hall @ Fire Hall - Prizes for the best dressed pet. 

                            Sponsored by Petz International and Salisbury Fire & Rescue.

 

********** PLEASE NOTE ***********

All events followed by * will take place near the Salisbury Municipal Building, 56 Douglas Street. THERE WILL BE NO PARKING/NO THROUGH TRAFFIC ON DOUGLAS ST. FROM 1PM-5PM. After 1pm, there will be FREE parking at the Salisbury Elementary School. Saturday afternoon’s event schedule is based upon the parade finishing at 1pm. Because of this, times are subject to change according to the length of the parade.
